RUF at Mississippi State Launches New Informational Website
Starkville, Mississippi – September 12, 2023 – Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Mississippi State University is connecting with students in a brand new way – via website.
Launched last week, RUF’s website offers information about the organization and ways that students can get involved. Pages includes sections about the club, its leadership, and upcoming events. Featured throughout are photos of RUF students on campus and at events.
Reformed University Fellowship is a Christian campus organization whose mission is to reach students for Christ and equip them to serve Him. RUF chapters are housed in over 150 campuses across 41 states, and the Mississippi State University chapter has been on campus for over forty years. For both the convinced and the unconvinced, RUF at Mississippi State is a safe place for all students to explore the Bible and Christian life.
Mississippi State’s RUF hosts weekly “large group gatherings,” which feature worship and a sermon from campus minister Joe Johnson, at 8:00 PM every Wednesday night at Dorman Hall. Students in leadership also host weekly small groups, which meet at a variety of locations throughout the week. For students interested in getting connected with RUF, they can now learn about these and other events on the website.
Website designer Elena Palomino is a marketing student at Mississippi State and a member of RUF’s leadership team. “RUF has been one of the best parts of my college experience, and I have met so many closest friends there,” Palomino said when asked why she chose to create a website for the organization. “I want other people to be able to find community here, too, which means we have to make information about RUF as accessible as possible.”
Right now the website is only in its early stages. Down the road, Palomino is hoping to add more complex features and information, like the latest sermons from RUF large groups or a link to schedule a meeting with someone on RUF staff. Eventually it may even be turned into an e-commerce site to sell RUF at Mississippi State merch, like upcoming sweatshirts designed by graphic design student and RUF leadership team member Jake Weekly.
